Director's Biography
Golam Rabbany Biplob was born in 1974. Basically known as cine-club activist and film festival organizer. He is the founder Director of International Film Festival Bangladesh. He is the Secretary General of International Federation of Film Societies, the global umbrella of cine-clubs. “On the Wings of Dreams” is his first film.
Director's note
My involvement with Cinema started as a film society activist back in early nineties. Since ever I had been cherishing to make film and build my career in cinema. Longing for more than one and half a decade I became unconfident to make film. But the opportunity came to me in a very much unprecedented way by Executive Producer of the film Mr. Faridur Reza Sagar who gave me confidence and drove me to my first cinematic endeavor.
To the International arena Bangladesh is being considered as a problematic country with it’s natural calamity, poverty and political unrest. But I find the common people of the country are very much happy with what they are. Their common philosophy of the life is plain living meeting the minimum necessity. Their simplicity and naivety inspire me ceaselessly. They dream, but they never get broken when the dream break. They always start struggle of life again. Map of their mind is as simple as like the vast plain green delta.
I intended to present my film in a same structure like the common people’s mind in Bangladesh.
